We are honored to add a special series of activities, conversations, engagements and game elements - focused on learning. Karl Kapp, one of the leading researchers, analysts and authors on the role of Gamification in Learning will be our Dean.
Karl M. Kapp, Ed.D., is a professor of Instructional Technology, a gamification analyst, a learning and development consultant and an author who studies and writes about the intersection of games, gamification and learning. He serves as the Director of Bloomsburg University’s Institute for Interactive Technologies which works with academic, commercial and government organizations to create interactive instruction. Karl has authored six books including The Gamification of Learning and Instruction and its accompanying how-to-book The Gamification of Learning and Instruction Fieldbook. Karl’s work explores the research, theoretical foundations and application of effective game-based learning and gamification. Karl is author of several Lynda.com courses including the Gamification of Learning and Core Strategies for Teaching in Higher Ed. Karl has served as a Co-Principle Investigator on two National Science Foundation (NSF) grants and a National Institute of Health (NIH) grant related to games, gamification and simulations.
