Richard Culatta

Richard Culatta is a leader in the field of learning innovations. He has worked in K-12, higher education, and workplace learning settings. Prior to joining the leadership team in Rhode Island, he served as the Executive Director of the Office of Educational Technology for the US Department of Education where he focused on leveraging new technologies and data to create personalized learning experiences. Culatta also served as the Chief Technology Officer for the CIA University and as a policy advisor in the U.S. Senate. Prior to joining the federal government, Culatta worked for Brigham Young University where he was instrumental in designing the university's online learning program. In 2016 Culatta was named one of the top 25 Doers, Dreamers and Drivers by Government Technology Magazine.
